You Said Let Go

Tony and Julie begin to argue in the hallway while walking to 5th period

Tony: Why the hell you talkin' to Joe for?!
Julie: Why you trippin? All I said was hi.
Tony: Girl, don't try to pull that innocent #$% on me!
Julie: Shoot! I just said hi.
Tony: Whatever!
Julie: (rolls her eyes)
Tony: Don't be rollin' your eyes at me!
Julie: Don't "whatever" me!
Tony: What! You talkin' smack to me?! You want me to smack you?! (raises his hand like he's going to slap Julie)
Julie: (looks away)
Tony: (grabs Julie by her arm) You want me to smack you like last time?
Julie: Don't touch me! I'm gonna tell my brother!
Tony: (continues grabbing her arm) You ain't tellin' nobody!
Julie: Let go! You're hurting me!
Tony: (pushes Julie into the wall causing her to fall and hit her head on the ground) You said let go!

It Don't Hurt That Much
Julie and her friend Jen are talking after school

Jen: What do you mean it's just a little bump! It's hella big! Doesn't it hurt?
Julie: It don't hurt that much. (winces in pain as Jen touches it) It was my fault anyways. I shouldn't have said "hi" to Joe.
Jen: What are you talking about! Don't let him control you like that!
Julie: But I love him, and he loves me. I don't wanna make him mad.
Jen: You call that love? (pointing at the bump on her head)
Julie: He's really sweet though. He bought me roses and a box of chocolates to make things up.
Jen: Girl, if he does it once, he'll do it again.
Julie: No he won't. He promised he wouldn't
Jen: Yes he will. I know. Don't you remember what I went through?
Julie: Yea, but this is different. Tony and I are planning to be together for the rest of our lives.
Jen: Well, that's what Mike and I planned for too. You think you know a person, but you really don't. Girl, I found out the hardway. Please, Julie, listen to me. You can't stay in a relationship like this.
Julie: I'm ok. You don't have to worry about me.

the next day, Jen sees Julie with a bruise on her neck

Jen: Oh my gosh Julie, what happened?
Julie: Oh nothing. (as she puts her hand over it) My zipper got caught on my neck last night.
Jen: Girl, you don't have to lie to me.
Julie: (starts crying) I should've listened to you. What should I do?

Respect

Tony is complaining and bragging to Brian about what he did to Julie

Tony: Girls are so stupid!
Bri: What's up, man?
Tony: My girl's been talkin back to me, so I had to put her in her place. Gotta let her know who the MAN is. You know what I'm
saying?
Bri: No. What are you talking about?
Tony: You know. I had to give her a little taste of my strength.
Bri: What! You hit her?!
Tony: Naw, it ain't even like that, man! I just gave her a little shove. Then her clumsy ass scrubbed and hit her head on the ground.
Bri: Man, that ain't cool.
Tony: I barely even touched her.
Bri: That's what I used to say too. But then I realized that it ain't right to abuse your girl like that.
Tony: I love Julie and all, but she gotta respect me, man.
Bri: Well, she would respect you if you respect her in return. You have to talk to her. You can't be yellin' and pushin' to get that
respect. You know what I'm sayin'?
Tony: Yea, I hear you, foo'.
